East Hungary Felt Tour
April 16-27, 2026

In the East-Hungary Felt Tour,

there will be 5 days of project-based workshops from excellent instructors to learn new skills and a wide variety of wet felting techniques.

We'll meet up in Budapest, and will visit small towns of the East side of the country like Nádudvar, Kecskemét and Gödöllő, and take a trip to the UNESCO world heritage site, Hortobágy.  The tiring workshop days will be balanced with fun activities such as guided museum visits - like the private museum and workshop of the last Hungarian hat maker in Balmazújváros.
Other events,  exhibits, concerts, festivities, such as the Spring Sheep Herding Celebration on the Hortobágy will be incorporated into the itinerary as they are posted to the public.

The internationally recognized, inspiring instructor team:

Author of several books on felting and other fiber crafts and a knowledgeable researcher of nomadic felts, Mihály Vetró will be teaching a one-day workshop of a felted bottle-holder with nomadic design.
Judit Pócs,  innovative and inspirational felt artist and author of several amazing videos on feltmaing, will be teaching a one--day small felt sculpture workshop.

Gabriella Kovács mastered and developed a unique style of felting with handmade prefelts. She will be teaching a
two-day felted tower workshop that was designed specifically for the participants of the Felt Tour.

Anikó Boros is famous for extraordinarily fine wet-felted and sculpted jewelry, working with 14-16 micron merino wool. She'll teach how to make a felted brooch with pleated silk fabric embedded in felt.
