West Hungary Felt Retreat 
August 23 - September 1, 2023

In the West-Hungary Felt Retreat,
we'll meet up in Budapest then head to the West to stay in historic downtown Kőszeg. Here, the 120-year-old MuliFelt Factory will host our workshops.  

 

Our internationally recognized, innovative instructors:

Hungary’s own Anikó Boros will present us a workshop on how to make a Felted Fuchsia Jewelry. Anikó is a master of the finest and most detailed felting, using 14-16 micron super-extra-fine merino wool.

Flóra Carlile-Kovács will be teaching a three-and-a-half-day workshop. You can complete two projects with the help of the old industrial equipement: 

1.) A wool yardage fabric with your unique surface design, final thickness of the fabric around 1 mm (final size TBD). This fabric can be later used for making bags, pillows or garments. 
2.) A wool rug of 3 mm thickness (finished size TBD), where you can explore various surface design techniques.

Between the workshops we'll take a daytrip to Vienna, and a visit at the Museum of Art Nouveau, and a half-day trip to visit Liliomkert craft and antique market. 

Optional program is to dip in the beautiful thermal lake of Hévíz.
